Spring Break Camps on the Hill

If you’re in a bind and need a last-minute spring break camp for your kid (spring break is next week, April 15-19) , it’s worth checking with the following camps on the Hill. (I don’t know for sure that these have spots left, but registration appeared open for most).

General Arts and Recreation

Busy Bees: Spring Break Camp

“The children will participate in art projects and music class every day. They will also have a Spanish stories, music and games period at least once each day. Students who have had Spanish exposure will be spoken to  in Spanish, by native speakers, if you so request.”

Capitol Hill Arts Workshop: Spring Break Camp

“Students in grades K-5 will engage in recreational activities, crafts and field trips in the morning, followed by structured art activities in the afternoon. Come spend the day or week with with us!!”

Polite Piggy’s Camp

Science

Mad Science: Flight Academy

“Mad Science day-off camps give kids the opportunity to learn about science through our interactive and hands-on science activities. Our science programs let children become junior scientists for the week and embark on a series of science adventures!

“Flight Academy: Calling all pilots! As a Mad Science flight cadet in training, you will discover how airplanes fly. Test your airplane’s performance in a wind tunnel. Build your own kite, stunt plane and model rocket. Ride the air on a Hovercraft. Discover how hot air balloons, blimps and parachutes work.”

Soccer

DC United: Spring Break Camp

“D.C. United’s Spring Break Camps are half-day and full-day programs which provide participants aged 5 – 16 an opportunity to experience an exciting soccer environment consisting of modern camp exercises, highlighting individual technique, coupled with team and game tactics. Campers will be exposed to a different set of technical and tactical focuses each day of camp. Coaches will work with players to develop their technical ability as well as discover a better understanding of the game in a fun and energetic environment. All participants will receive an official D.C. United camp ball and an official camp t-shirt.”

DC Way: Spring Break Camp

“DC Way’s Spring Break Camp uses fun soccer games to not only improve soccer skills, but also cognitive skills!  Games like Tigers v Rabbits build adaptability in our players to prepare them for on and off the field.  Your kids will also make new friends while having a blast at our camp!”
