Weekend Review: Concert, Soccer, Carousel and a Museum

Hi! How was your weekend? We stayed busy.

On Saturday morning, I took my own CHK advice and went to the Here Comes Trouble 4 Kids show at Pie Shop DC. It was really fun! The music was energetic, bouncy and danceable. The musicians were super nice. We will be returning for this band!

Sunday morning, we were up early for Super Soccer Stars at Hill Center. I kind of regret signing up for a class that starts at 8:15 a.m. A latte from Little Pearl next door made it better though.

Then we walked down to the Mall to the Carousel. A few weekends ago, we were there for the Kite Festival. AJ wanted to ride, but I didn’t have any cash for the tickets. He DID NOT FORGET. He reminded me several times: “I want to ride horsie.” So here we are! For reference, I have since learned that there is an ATM inside the Smithsonian visitors center.

Then I decided on a whim to go to the National Museum of the American Indian, and that was a very good call. It was Cherokee Days at the museum, and tribe members were displaying and selling crafts and playing music. We went up to the ImagiNATIONS Activity Center and built the igloo that you see above … and then knocked it down. ImagiNATIONS is a great play area with a huge tepee, a wigwam and more. They also have activities such as the below.

It was a lot of excitement for AJ and good exercise for me (5+ miles). After all that, I was SURE he would have a nap. I was wrong! Better luck next weekend (I hope).
