I am very excited to present Capitol Hill Kid’s first guest post! Heather Schoell is a Capitol Hill mom of two Eastern High School students, a Realtor at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty at Eastern Market and the organizer of Hill-o-ween for the past four years of its 20-plus-year history.

Okay, mummies and daddies, and all of you taxed but unrepresented people, it’s Hill-o-ween time again!

WHERE: Eastern Market North Hall. We’ll be in and in front of and to the side of Eastern Market North Hall at 7th and North Carolina Ave SE.

WHEN: Friday, Oct. 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

WHAT: There will be multiple moon bounces in the North Hall. There will be table after table of swag, so bring your trick-or-treat bag! There will be a haunted Circulator Bus to climb in, face painting and a photo booth.

NEW: Last year it was raining and miserable, but the show must go on. IF IT’S DRY, we’ll have stroller parking on the plaza, just to the right of the North Hall main door. IF IT’S RAINING, stroller parking will be inside to the right of the door, please.

Speaking of cars…7th Street will NOT be closed. Hold hands like usual.

No one can stop you from enjoying the 200 block of 7th St SE, but no one will be allowed in the moon bounces until the volunteers are in place.

TABLES: Farmers line tables will be available as usual for schools and organizations who wish to fundraise/advertise/be part of the community fun. My apologies, but please cover the cost with $20 per table. Each table should have a giveaway item for everyone, or a craft or service, even if you’re doing a fundraiser. When you reserve a table, please do so by paying for it by PayPal or Venmo.

You can reach me through the Hilloween Facebook page

VOLUNTEERS: Want to volunteer? I offer you fun and community, plus service hours, should you need them. Please sign up at the signupgenius link below.

SPONSORS: If you would like to sponsor, then let me know ASAP. The sooner you get in on it, the longer I have to thank you! I already get to thank Eastern Market, the Hill Rag, National Capital Bank, and Eastern Market Main Street. *kisses* And River Park Nursery School for two face painters! And Tiber Realty Group for one face painter!
