Looking for a Valentine’s Day activity for your little sweetheart? I’m here to tell you about two crafty opportunities for your kid right here on the Hill–one at the Hill Center and the other at the National Postal Museum. This is sure to make your heart flutter: Both are free!

Valentine’s Day Cards with Janai Johnson and SWAG Works

Sunday, Feb. 9, 3-5 p.m. | Hill Center, 921 Pennsylvania Ave SE | Free, registration required

Kids ages 6-10 join artist Janai Johnson and Lisa Clarke of SWAG Works DC for a Valentine’s Day card creation workshop. The workshop is part of the Eastern Market Art Series and Trainings (EAST), an ongoing series that brings artists and children together to explore arts and crafts. Read more and register.

Postal Museum’s Valentine’s Day Card Workshop

Saturday, Feb. 8 and Sunday, Feb. 9, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days | National Postal Museum, 2 Massachusetts Ave SE | Free, drop in

Families with kids of all ages can drop in the National Postal Museum’s annual Valentine’s workshop and enjoy a spread of patterned papers, rubber stamps and assorted embellishments. After completing cards, kids can put them in envelopes adorned with the National Postal Museum postmark and drop them in a USPS SpongeBob Squarepants mailbox. Read more.
