We have about three weeks left to finalize our DC school lottery lists before the March 2 deadline. If you are struggling and still have lots of questions, I have some good news. There are three opportunities this week to attend an event with an expert, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday:

- Monday, Feb. 10, 6:15-7:30 p.m.: “Navigating the DC Lottery for PK” with educational consultant Lindsay Ferrer at Elemeno, 709 8th St SE. $50/nonmembers (single or couple) and $40/Elemeno members (single or couple). $10 child-minding fee. Learn more and register.
- Tuesday, Feb 11, 7-8:30 p.m.: “DC Schools Lottery Demystified” with educational consultant EV Downey at Riggs LaSalle Recreation Center, 501 Riggs Rd NE. Free. Learn more and register.
- Wednesday, Feb. 12, 8 p.m.: “Navigating the DC Lottery for PK” with educational consultant Lindsay Ferrer at Colony Club, 3118 Georgia Ave NW. $40/single, $70 couple. Learn more and register.

If you can’t attend any of these events, keep in mind that both Ferrer and Downey provide individual consulting tailored to your needs. Reach out to EV at DowneySchoolConsulting@gmail.com. Reach out to Lindsay at Lindsay@LEADConsulting.biz.
For a basic primer on the PK lottery, see my article School Daze: Get Help With the PK Lottery. It answers questions such as: What’s new or different this year? Am I guaranteed a spot at my IB school? What are my chances of getting into my IB school? Is it possible to not get a spot anywhere? How can I get more help?
Good luck, neighbors!
