Kid Event of the Season: Gan Shalom’s Purim Carnival, March 8

Get ready for the little-kid event of the season. Gan Shalom Cooperative Preschool invites the entire community to its annual Purim Carnival, to be held Sunday, March 8, 10 a.m. to noon at the Naval Lodge, 330 Pennsylvania Ave SE.

The carnival is promised to be the “biggest and best ever,” featuring Zig Zag the Magic Man, face painters, balloon animals and snacks like hamantaschen. What’s that? Hamantaschen are fun, triangular pastry pockets with tasty fillings.

The carnival provides an opportunity for the community to build ties while helping the school with enrichment programs, tuition assistance and improvements.

Tickets are $20 per adult/child, $70 per family, free for infants and include all food, drinks, games, crafts and entertainment. Costumes are encouraged. Get tickets now.

In honor of Queen Esther, bring a feminine hygiene product for donation to the Greater DC Diaper Bank.

Gan Shalom is a cooperative preschool on the Hill. It is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year for children who will be 24 months and 30 months by September. Learn more about Gan Shalom. Read more about about Coop Preschools and Play Groups on the Hill.
