Cherry Blossom Peak and Best Kid-Friendly Festival Events

The National Park Service’s initial peak bloom prediction is March 27-30. This prediction may change over the coming weeks.

The National Park Service yesterday announced its peak bloom prediction: March 27-30. This coincides perfectly with my favorite kid-friendly National Cherry Blossom Festival Event: the Blossom Kite Festival, set for Saturday, March 28, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on the grounds of the National Mall. Note that NPS’s prediction may change as the bloom gets closer.

The Blossom Kite Festival is Saturday, March 28.

At the Blossom Kite Festival, you can take in the awesome sight of kites filling the sky around the Washington Monument. It’s also a pretty chill event, with plenty of space toward the Capitol side of the Mall to lounge, picnic and play with your family.
