Miner Elementary Community Yard Sale, March 21

The Miner Elementary 5th Annual Community Yard Sale will be held Saturday, March 21 at the school, 601 15th St NE.

I now have a deadline for my spring cleaning, and that is March 20. That’s the last day that Miner will take donations for its 5th Annual Community Yard Sale to be held Saturday, March 21. The yard sale presents opportunities to score cheap goods, donate gently used items, safely dispose of hazardous waste and recycle e-waste. It all goes to help Miner PTO support a great school.

Shop

The sale, held 9 a.m.-1 p.m., will have kids clothes ($1 per item) and gear, toys and games ($3 per item) and household items ($1-5 per item). You can pay the list price or make an offer. From noon to 1 p.m., you can fill a bag: $5/small, $10/medium and $15/large. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.

Donate

Drop off gently used items during school hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., now through March 20. When you enter, let the security guard know that you are there to drop off donations. Leave your items in the Main Office area marked “Yard Sale Donations.”

The school cannot take large items, such as furniture, until the week of March 16. The school cannot accept any car seats.

Clean Out E-Waste and Hazardous Waste

From 9 a.m.-noon on yard sale day, the school is accepting e-waste and hazardous waste. These items will be transported to Fort Totten Transfer Station for proper disposal. Acceptable hazardous waste items include paints, insecticides, antifreeze and more. See Acceptable/Prohibited Household Hazardous Waste Items for a full list. Acceptable e-waste includes computers, monitors, cell phones and more. See What to E-Cycle.

Check out the Miner Elementary Yard Sale Page for more info, including ways you can volunteer to help.

Happy spring cleaning!
