OATS Cooperative Playgroup is holding a meeting for interested parents this Saturday, March 7, at 4 p.m. in the OATS classroom on the second floor of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 400 D St SE. OATS brings together 2-year-olds and their parents for loosely structured, regular play and learning time.
OATS is finalizing plans for our incoming cohort of kids born between Oct. 1, 2017 and Sept. 30, 2018. If you have a child in this age range and are interested in being part of a parent-led co-op model of regular playdates with a group of peers on the Hill, you are invited to attend the meeting. Enter the church via the red doors on 4th Street just north of D Street.
OATS meets in a sunny playroom at the church and uses Marion Park as its outdoor play space. Parents rotate to supervise and are responsible for the safety of the children and providing snack and lunch for the group. A hired facilitator plans and leads activities, including circle time, crafts and outdoor play. OATS meets weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., September-May.
